Aid agencies are currently responding to multiple wildfires across the state of Colorado, providing shelter, food, basic needs and help with recovery. If you would like to assist in these efforts, financial support to voluntary agencies responding to disasters is the most effective way to help. |

King Soopers:
King Soopers/City Market across the State is collecting donations for the Red Cross to aid in the relief efforts. You will find the donation jars at the cashier stands. All of the funds collected will be used LOCALLY.
Whole Foods Market:
The Colorado Citizens Fire Brigade, a local grassroots relief effort, will be partnering with Whole Foods Market as we collect donations for the victims of the High Park, Estes Park, and other wildfires in Northern Colorado.
We will be accepting the following: Non-perishable food items, hygiene products, new underwear and socks, clothing, bedding, toilet paper, paper towels, cash, small housewares, solar and hand crank radios, first aid kits, sunscreen – and any supplies needed for those effected by the blaze. Our last drive netted a fantastic quantity of clothing and food – an amazing success! – We thank you for everyone’s help in our last drive, volunteers and donators alike!
The Colorado Citizens Fire Brigade will be at Whole Foods – Washington Park – 1111 S. Washington St. Friday-Sunday 6/29-7/1 from 8am-8pm. Shane Co:
Shane Co. has made a cash donation to the American Red Cross Colorado Chapters so that the funds will remain in the state to assist in wildfire relief. With an appeal on their website, ShaneCo.com, the company is encouraging everyone to join in donating to relief efforts. “On behalf of my family and all of us at Shane Co., I would like to send our thoughts and prayers to all affected by the wildfires, and thank the firefighters for their continued, heroic efforts,” said Tom Shane, owner of Shane Co.
Animal Shelters:
The Community and Animal response team (CART) shelter at Cheyenne Mountain High School is accepting animals displaced by the fire in Colorado Springs. The shelter is in need of dog waste bags, puddle pads, large slip leads and watering cans.
The Douglas County Fairgrounds is receiving large and small animals for those individuals in the pre-evacuation zone in Douglas County. The shelter currently has taken in 74 large animals and 3 dogs and there are open stalls still available.

According to Governor John Hickenlooper, the fires in Colorado are so severe that half of the nation's firefighting power is in the state helping to combat the multiple burns.

Fireworks bans and warnings:
Gov. John Hickenlooper has issued an Executive Order that bans open burning and private use of fireworks throughout Colorado because of very dry conditions and high fire danger.
Commercial, professional and municipal fireworks displays are allowed when written approval has been granted by the sheriff of the county in which the fireworks display is to occur. Check with your city to find out if fireworks displays will be held in your area.
