Last year, I took part in a fundraising event for Art from Ashes, a charity that helps provide artistic outlets for LGBTQ teens.  All participants had to run a race of a few blocks...while wearing heels.  It's not uncommon for other participants to wear goofy costumes and/or drag while taking part, but I thought I'd try something a bit different.  I decided to do the race wearing a full Colorado Mammoth uniform (and heels).  The Colorado Mammoth were amazingly helpful getting me the pieces of the uniform I didn't have - helmet, pad and stick.  I ended up doing quite well in the race, and I raised more money than any other participant.

I've decided to do something similar for this year's fundraiser.  But I wanted to step up the game a bit.

This year, I'm making the run in full Denver Broncos uniform.

This is going to be tough, since I literally don't have any parts of that uniform.  So I've ordered a jersey, and bought a cheap set of used shoulder pads.  Miles the Broncos mascot has procured me a helmet for me to wear.  And yes, I found a crappy pair of heels to wear.  So now I'm just looking for a good pair of football pants to wear.  Once I have that, I'll be set to tear up the course.

To see how I looked in the above gear, and to donate to this excellent cause in my name, please click here.  And if you'd like to come cheer/jeer me on, the race will be Sunday, September 30th at 11am, in front of Steuben's Restaurant at 523 East 17th Avenue in Denver.
